Julie’s been writing since her early 20s, when she started writing short stories and taking classes for the fun of it. She finally got up the nerve to begin submitting her work and was thrilled beyond words when her first short story written for teens was sold in 1990. She was hooked! Since that time Julie’s written three books, including two young adult novels, Time To Cast Away and Just Call Me Goody-Two-Shoes, and a non-fiction book she co-authored, Residential Steel Design and Construction. In addition, hundreds of her articles and short stories have been published in national and regional magazines and she won three journalism awards from the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association while working as a reporter. (See Published Works for more details.) Julie is currently working on a third young adult novel. She lives with her husband, Scott, and has two grown children. |
